California Sun...

Hey everyone!

I have spent my day walking around the area and exploring Stanford University...I can only say IMPRESSIVE!! I have never seen a similar university...incredible! It is so huge...so many different buildings and you really need a map to get around there...
The first thing you can see is this...
And then you walk straight to this...


This is the Stanford Memorial Chapel that has been build for the wife of Leland Stanford, the founder of Stanford University...
And then I walked around the huge campus and also found the library that Im going to spend most of my time here in...

After seeing the campus I walked back home and met a lot of squirrels...there are many trees in this area, a friend informed me that Palo Alto is also called "The Tree City"...and on these trees or between the bushes you can see these furry little buggers...Here is one who seems to be into being photographed..


Even though I was basically walking all the time and not sitting in the sun for hours, I got a little red on my nose...it seems that the Californian sun burns pretty much...However, I enjoyed walking around, listening to music, especially Tim Armstrong's solo album "A poet's life" which really fits the mood here...

Tomorrow I will attend the first course here...Dr. Fellner, the professor who is supporting me in writing my thesis and made it possible for me to come here, is giving a course and asked me to have a look...Im really excited to see how university courses are here...

Now I'll take a shower and watch a movie...my legs ache pretty much from all the walking...tomorrow I'll take a bike....
